Shuttle and Parking Information for Guests

Welcome to the University of North Florida.

If you are planning to visit the UNF campus, there are some things you need to know about getting around.

Days and times when display of parking permits is required

As authorized by regulation 9.0020R I (2), the University’s President has designated the following days and times when the display of parking permits is required. All motor vehicles parked on University property, whether parked by students, faculty, staff, vendors, contractors, visitors or others must display a valid parking permit:

  1. at all times (24 hours per day, 7 days per week) for Lot 16 (University Center lot), except for the thirty-three (33) spaces allocated to Housing in the north-west corner of this lot;
  2. continuously from 12:00 a.m. Monday through 7:00 p.m. Friday for Lots 10, 11, 12, 15, 17, 47 and the thirty-three (33) spaces allocated to Housing in the north-west corner of Lot 16; and
  3. between the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday for all parking locations not covered in (1) and (2) above. Except as noted in (1) and (2) above, no permit is required from 7:00 p.m. Friday through 7:00 a.m. Monday unless there is a special event on campus.

No permit is required for visitors while they are attending events at the University Center and who park in Lot 16 at the University Center.

There are some other exceptions for certain vendors, contractors, law enforcement, state vehicles, utility and repair vehicles, taxis and some others.  For the complete list of exemptions, please refer to the official rules and regulations.

Purchase a Premium Daily Permit

During the week, guests may purchase a $3.00 Premium Daily Permit at the Information Booths that will allow parking in many of the lots and garages around campus. These include:

The 2nd, 3rd and 4th floor of the garages

  All surface lots, except Lot 7, Lot 16 or Housing Lots 10, 11, 12, 15 and 17.

But remember, you are not allowed to park in Designated, Restricted and Reserved spaces.

Visitors may also purchase a Daily Parking Permit for $3.00 from a Parking Permit Dispenser located in Lots 18 and 53 and take the Osprey Connector shuttle to campus.

Lot 53 is east of Kernan Boulevard on First Coast Technology Parkway, just north of the Alumni Drive campus entrance. Take the South Route Osprey Connector shuttle from Lot 53 to The Crossings and then on to five stops around the UNF Drive loop.

See the South Route Osprey Connector shuttle map.

You may also park in Lot 18, which is accessible from Beach Boulevard or St. Johns Bluff Road, via Central Parkway, or from UNF Drive via North-South Road. Take the North Route Osprey Connector shuttle from Lot 18 to Lot 14 and then on to the Library. You can switch to the South Route for four additional stops around UNF drive, the Crossings and UNF Hall.

See the North Route Osprey Connector shuttle map.

There’s shuttle service Monday-Friday and on Sunday evenings. Click here to see the schedule. Or call (904) 620-1176 for a recorded schedule.

If you choose to walk or if you arrive when the shuttle is not running, you may call the UNF Police at 620-2800 and request a safety escort.

Vendors and long-term visitors

If you are a vendor or will be coming to campus for several days, contact Parking & Transportation Services at 620-2815, and ask about a Vendor Permit or a Consecutive Multi-Day Permit.
