What guests need to know about parking at UNF.Welcome to the University of North Florida! With more than 16,000 students taking classes and many scheduled events for the public, things can get pretty busy at UNF, especially on weekdays. Parking regulations are strictly enforced 24 hours a day and 7 days a week, first for safety and efficiency, but also to respect students, faculty and staff who have purchased annual parking permits. Purchase a Premium Daily Permit If you are attending events, meetings or conferences at UNF, or have official business with UNF administration, faculty or staff, you must purchase a Premium Daily Permit from the Information Booths as you enter campus. Parking permits for guests are required continuously from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday and from 7:00 a.m. through 7:00 p.m. on Friday. No permit is required from 7:00 p.m. Friday through 7:00 a.m. Monday unless there is a special event on campus. No permit is required for visitors while attending events at the University Center and who park in Lot 16 at the University Center. Note: UNF students who do not have a term or annual parking permit, should purchase a Daily Permit from the Parking Permit Dispensers in Lot 18 or 53, and park in those lots. Where to park with a Premium Daily Permit Visitors with a Premium Daily Permit may park in most of the surface lots and garages. These include:
Please note, you are not allowed to park in Restricted, Reserved spaces indicated with a numbered sign or Designated spaces painted with orange stripes. Also note that the $3.00 Premium Daily Permit is valid only for the calendar day you purchase it, not for a 24-hour period. If you are staying overnight Sunday through Thursday, you must move your vehicle by 7:00 a.m. the following morning or purchase either a permit for that day or a Consecutive Multi-day Permit to avoid a parking ticket. Visitors may also purchase a Daily Parking Permit for $3.00 from a Parking Permit Dispenser located in Lots 18 and 53 and take the Osprey Connector shuttle to campus. Lot 53 is east of Kernan Boulevard on First Coast Technology Parkway, just north of the Alumni Drive campus entrance. Lot 18 is accessible from Beach Boulevard or St. Johns Bluff Road, via Central Parkway, or from UNF Drive via North-South Road. SCROLL DOWN TO LEARN MORE ABOUT PARKING FOR DIFFERENT TYPES OF EVENTS. Attending Fine Arts Center Events If you are attending events at the Fine Arts Center during the week and park your vehicle before 9:00 p.m. (7:00 p.m. on Friday), please purchase a $3.00 Premium Permit at either of the Parking Services booths on your right when you enter campus. Leave the permit on your dashboard. Park in the garage (Building 44) adjacent to the Fine Arts Center on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th floor, or in Lot 2 (except those Designated spaces indicated by orange stripes). Do not park in the loading dock area or the circle leading to the loading dock at the rear of the Fine Arts Center facility. No permit is required on Saturday or Sunday, unless there is a special event taking place on campus. Attending Events at the University Center If you are attending a conference, seminar or social event like a wedding or reception at the University Center, you are not required to purchase a parking permit. Just be sure to park in Lot 16 off Alumni Drive, adjacent to the University Center. Overnight parking is not allowed in Lot 16. Attending Multiple-Day Events If you are attending a multiple-day event (other than events at the University Center), you may purchase a permit that will allow you to park for however many consecutive days you need, without having to purchase a permit each day. The Consecutive Multi-day Permit allows you to park in the lots and garage spaces indicated above. Consecutive Multi-Day Permits must be purchased at the Parking & Transportation Services office (Building 52) near the 9A entrance. Attending Sports Camps (Including Parking to Drop Off or Pick Up Campers) If you are attending Sports Camps during the week before 9:00 p.m., please purchase a Daily Permit for $3.00 from the Permit Dispensers in Lot 18 near the Arena and sports complex, and park in Lot 18. It's a short walk or take the Osprey Connector shuttle. If you are attending a camp that lasts for multiple days, you can purchase a Consecutive Multi-day Permit. No permit is required on Saturday or Sunday, unless there is a special event taking place on campus. If you are just dropping off (up to 30 minutes before the start of the camp) at the designated location or picking up (up to one hour after the camp is finished) at the designated location, you do not have to purchase a daily permit. Vendors and Contractors Working at UNF If you have on-going business with the University, you may purchase a special Vendor Permit ranging from one month up to a year, depending on the nature of your contract. Vendor Permits allow parking in most surface lots and the 2nd, 3rd and 4th floor of the garages as indicated above -- plus spaces indicated for vendors in Lots 7 and 9. Contact Parking & Transportation Services at (904) 620-2815 for additional information. Working on Construction Site Unless previous arrangements have been made by the contractor, construction workers who wish to park their personal vehicles must purchase a Daily Permit from the Parking Permit Dispensers in Lots 18 and 53, and park in those lots. Parking for Guests with Disabilities The University allocates parking spaces for guests with disabilities. You must purchase and display both a valid UNF parking permit (Daily, Consecutive Multi-day or Vendor) for that lot or garage and either a state-issued disability parking placard or a UNF-issued temporary mobility impairment placard in order to park in a disability parking space. Daily Permits are available from the Information Booths. Consecutive Multi-Day and Vendor Permits are available from Parking & Transportation Services. If you need special accommodations, please call (904) 620-2815 for assistance.
